Alaska Ferry

The McDaniels welcomed us to Bellingham and put us on the ferry

The ferry is MV Columbia, of the Alaska Marine Highway ferry fleet. The ferry fleet is run by the state as part of the public transportation system.

  Wrangell Narrows -- something like 75 navigation markers in 30 miles

There aren't enough cabins on the ferry, but it's fine to camp out on the deck.

so you tape down the tent
