Pittsburgh to Washington DC by train

Look at the pictures for Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday   Back to trip overview

Ten of us (Fran, Nikki, Dave, Susan, Carol and Gerry, Jeannette and Bob, Roy and I) took Amtrak from Pittsburgh to Washington. We caught a few glimpses of the trail along the way.

In Pittsburgh, we check in ...

... and wait

Carrie furnace, along future Steel Valley Trail

McKeesport Marina -- where we're all headed

Durabond plant -- the trail runs on the hill behind the plant

Rockwood. The trail is just this side of the blue Rockwood Trail House at the far end of the bridge

On the train ...

... and in the observation car

Windmills at Garrett

Salisbury viaduct, carrying trail over Casselman Valley

Pedestrian bridge at Harpers Ferry

Arriving in Washington
